History of the higher education in the Czech Republic began with foundation in 1348 of Karlov Universitet, one of the oldest universities of Europe. Today in the Czech Republic about 30 large state universities, and also a set of private higher education institutions, whose diplomas admit many countries. The Czech Republic – one of the few former socialist states with rather stable economy. Since 2004 the Czech Republic became the full member of the European Union, and since 2007 entered the Schengen area. It means that the standard of living in the country reached the European standards, and there are no problems for movement from the Czech Republic to other European states. With the Czech diploma there is a chance to find a job both in the Czech Republic, and in any European country. Programs of the higher education of the Czech Republic are interesting to us that, unlike some European countries to become the student of the Czech higher education institution, it is enough to have the certificate about senior secondary education. Training at Czech in state universities free, training at English in the Czech Republic language – paid, its cost varies depending on specialty and higher education institution from 6 to 10 thousand euros a year. Enrollment of students is made on a competitive basis once a year, the beginning of occupations since September, depending on the chosen specialty it is necessary to pass 2-3 entrance examinations in profile objects and/or to have interview.
Entrance examinations in state universities of the Czech Republic, as a rule, represent written testing in which knowledge of several special objects (for example can be checked, at revenues to such specialties as informatics, mathematics, physics, biology economy) or the general intellectual development: memory, logic, perception of figures, abstract thinking (at revenues to humanitarian specialties).
Introductory examinations are taken in that language in which there will take place further training in the Czech Republic For training at English confirmation of knowledge of Czech are not required. Terms of examination the university, most often establishes it in the summer.

Description: Karlov university (Univerzita Karlova v Praze) founded in 1348 by the Czech king and the emperor of the Sacred Roman Empire Charles IV is the most prestigious and large educational institution of the Czech Republic, and also one of the oldest universities of the Central Europe along with universities of Heidelberg and Vienna today. The famous medieval scientist and the church reformer John Hus was Karlov’s rector of university.
Among teachers of university there are physicists Albert Einstein and Nikolay Tesla, the first presidents of Czechoslovakia T.G. Masarik and E.Benesh, and among students – the poet Erich-Maria Rilke writers Franz Kafka, Milan Kundera.
Today at its faculties teachers from leading universities of the world give lectures.
Karlov university is included into Association of the European higher education institutions.

Description: The state Economic university (the Higher Economic School) of Prague (V Š E) – the indisputable leader among economic higher education institutions of the Czech Republic. It is a member of the prestigious Union of the European Schools of Management (Community of European Management Schools – CEMS) in which only about one leading higher education institution training economists and managers from each European country is accepted. Such famous schools of management as London School of Economics, Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam, Copenhagen Business School, Wirtschaftsuniversitat Wien, Stockholm School of Economics, ESADE Barcelona and others treat their number. Diplomas of its Prague Economic University officially admit all countries of the European Union. A graduate of Economic University is the current president of the Czech Republic Václav Klaus.
