Devil rings of Borgia

In 1492 a most august couple Ferdinand and Isabella, seeking to get support of omnipotent Rome, spent 50 thousand gold ducats for that in Vatican their protege of Rodrigo Borja who became the father Alexander VI better known under the name of Borgia set in. “Wars are won not by armies and gold, and cooks in kitchens and managers of formal dinner parties. The trifle is necessary – to be able to pour in a honey barrel in a poison drop” to understand what the person was, it is enough to address the characteristic given it by Karl Marx who wrote that this biped fiend gained sad popularity thanks to gnusnost of the posterity – the numerous sons and daughters who sent legions of the most worthy people to a grave. Borgia achieved that the clerical elite of Italy became a defect embodiment: in debauchery, incests, murders, plots the predominating role belonged to the father with indispensable participation of his son – Cesare and the daughter Lucrecia. A justice on Borgia, his family and proteges, thanks to fantastic riches which he owned, was not. The father did not hide what gave him the chance undividedly to dominate in others country. Its saying is known: “Wars are won not by armies and gold, and cooks in kitchens and managers of formal dinner parties. The trifle is necessary – to be able to pour in a honey barrel in a poison drop”. Borgia knew what he spoke about. He personally sent to the world other many representatives of notable surnames, and his successor on a throne, the Father Yuli II knowing about cruel “weaknesses” of the last by no means not by hearsay in chronicles which he kept daily, concealed nothing: “As a rule, the vessel which contents one fine day could acquaint with eternity of the inconvenient baron, rich priest, too talkative courtesan, the valet, sharp on language, yesterday still the devoted murderer, today still the devoted beloved was used. In the dark nights Tiber accepted in waters the insensible victims of Kantarella”. Kantarella – the “company” poison of a family of Borgia made by the Roman aristocrat, fine as an angel, but angry and false as a devil, Vanozzey Kataneya. The compounding of a poison became known not so long ago that in the former rooms of Borgia send his personal ring surprise. On outer side it is engraved: “Merciful Borgia, 1503”. On internal there is an inscription: “Fulfill the duty what it costed you”. In a ring there is a mobile plate with a hiding place for poison. The ring is decorated with a vegetable gold ornament and a platinum lion’s pad which each claw has the through channel joint with a hiding place container. Poisoning of objectionable was made differently. It was possible, having shifted a plate turn of a ring around a finger, to pour out poison in wine or food. It was possible, besides, having shifted a plate and having opened channels of claws of a lion’s pad, to shake hands the victim. There was enough scratch that the poison made the business. Antidote for Kantarella did not exist because as the Italian chemist Carlo Cesini found out in 1966, killing mix included arsenic, copper salts, phosphorus, the wiped glands of a wood toad and an extract from the South African plants brought by the first Christian missionaries. There was enough drop of such infernal mix to kill a bull. Borgia in a circle of supporters cynically declared that to taste Kantarella – the most great honor to the most brilliant nobility. For those who blood are nasty that is for commoners, arsenic quite is good, certainly, ideal for the murder disguised under an illness because its oxide at dissolution in liquids does not paint them, does not give smack, has no smell. The dose of 60 milligrams is considered deadly. If long time small doses of arsenic to influence the person, then the picture of his illness can turn out so motley and confused that even skilled doctors will make any diagnosis – from cholera to syphilis: devilish powder strikes nervous system, destroys mucous membranes, izjyazvlyat skin, splits up bone tissues. “Arsenic – the king, – Borgia used to say, – but it is especially desired at court of illustrious Kantarella”. Borgia skillfully owned prashchy, and received a reciprocal shot from a gun. There was it so. Having decided to get rid of the cardinals who attempted upon its absolute power, but, understanding as far as they are afraid of its hospitality, Borgia appealed to the devoted cardinal Adriano di Carneto for a while to provide it the palace for reception. Before there the papal valet who delivered a keg of the poisoned wine which should have treated only those to whom Borgia will point secretly visited. The father dealt shortly with enemies. But by mistake drank the same poison, however, fairly diluted with water. Thanks to a low dose of poison Alexander VI did not die at once, and suffered four more days … Borgia died. But its dirty deed lived and prospered. Originators of so-called Vatican copy-books narrate that in 1659 the Father Alexander VII decided to be through forever with manufacturers of poisons and poisoners who openly traded in death, charging a fee even not gold – copper coins: not bloodthirstiness pushed to infernal transactions, and poverty. The male druggists who had near at hand fair reserves of arsenic were not touched: “We execute them, we will be left without drugs and we will be destroyed as flies”. Therefore caught 150 externally very attractive commoners widows, having accused them of poisoning of husbands and lovers. Tortures in inquisition torture chambers quickly untied languages. All poisoners instantly pointed to a certain Iyeronimu Spahr – the chernoknizhnitsa and the fortuneteller knowing who owns art of drawing up poison on the basis of red arsenic: “If who eats a pea of this grass stone, at once will lose blood”. Spahr, however, it was a tough nut. Tortures did not break it. Alexander VII to whom, probably, as air, was necessary the recipe of the poison which did not have equal in the world too ordered to release it from an imprisonment but to have shadowed. Cunning worked. Soon papal secret agents detained the lady – the healer Teofanija di Adamo who developed a unique compounding of the poison operating instantly and not leaving marks in an organism. This poison called “Teofana’s Water” takes a place of honor in arsenals of intelligence agencies today. The poison packaged in the tiny vessels decorated with the image of a face of Saint Mark, with di Adamo for huge money supplied everyone. Thanks to such here enterprise in a year in Italy 600 people were destroyed! In Palermo where the poisoner was allegedly beheaded, very plausible rumors as if Teofanija di Adamo Vatican presented to the king Louis XIV – the one who possesses words still go: “The state is I! ” Received a title of the marchioness from monarchical hands, di Adamo actively participated in political and amorous, not bloodless intrigues of the patron, checking effect of super-poison for those who got Korolya-Solntse under feet, prevented to dominate or to whom he grew cold. The marchioness impregnated with poison lacy scarfs, gloves, bed linen, thorns of roses in bouquets, filled with it hollow needles, door keys. Ludovic who was not tired to be surprised to hypocrisy and insidiousness of this fallen angel in a skirt speak, once dropped: “This creep will not bad settle also in an underworld”. Business, however, ended with the fact that the monarch began to be afraid of the entrusted. And here “accident” very opportunely appeared in time. The poisoner stumbled and, having broken from a tower of the lock presented to it by Ludovic, broke to death. In 1659 the Father Alexander VII decided to be through forever with manufacturers of poisons and poisoners who openly traded in death, charging a fee even not gold – copper coins. Over the years memory of the female monster changed in the most fancy way. Now it embodied itself sacred innocence. In monasteries of France and Italy began to sell amulets pendents in the form of tiny crystal vessels with the image of a prechisty face of the marchioness. Only now in these vessels there was not a poison, but the consecrated rose attar. The well-known cardinal Mazarini called arsenic the fair executioner undertaking all to uniform sins and relieving responsibility for their commission. Meanwhile poison from arsenic – only one of many about which in old times said that it is generated by the most extreme poverty – poverty of heart.
