The college founded in 1989 is in the center of Sydney and is the only school in the Pacific region which enters the leading network of the Australian hotels “Intercontinental”. Since the beginning of foundation of college all students of college pass obligatory practice in hotels of this network on the first year of education. In 1996 the school united with the Southern Christian University (Southern Cross University), and now thanks to this cooperation students can be automatically enlisted on baccalaureate programs of university after the termination of college. In 2000 the college was awarded with a prize of New South Wales in the field of the industry of tourism as the best educational institution in the sphere of hotel management of the last decade, and in 2004 the school got an award of the Australian Association of Hotel Business for a contribution to education and education in this direction.
The college offers the following programs of education:
— The diploma in hotel management in specialties: hotel administrator or employee of restaurant (1 year).
This course is a combination of the first course at University and the paid education. All students pass two-week practice in hotel of the Intercontinental network. Practice follows theoretical part of education that allows students to come into useful contacts for further employment. The beginning of the program — February
— The highest diploma in hotel management (2 years)
This program is continuation of the first year of education and is directed to receiving more profound knowledge in the sphere of tourism and hotel business. This course includes such objects: finance, marketing, advertising, human resource management etc. The beginning of the program — February and July.
— The bachelor’s degree in hotel management (3 years).
This program is final in a chain of obtaining the bachelor’s degree in the sphere of hotel business. The student is going to become top manager, studying specifics of this industry in detail: strategic management, financial management, personnel management etc. The beginning of the program — February and July.
— MBA in the field of tourism and hotel management (1 year).
Having received the bachelor’s degree in the sphere of hotel management or any other area + experience, the student can pass the annual master program.
— The certificate in the sphere of culinary art (1 year).
This course consists of theoretical part and practice at restaurants of a network of Interkontinental hotels. Upon termination of theoretical part of education students take final examination of the world organization “City & Guilds of London UK”. At successful passing an examination and passing of six-months practice the student gains the Diploma in the sphere of culinary art of this organization.
