Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program

The Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program (the IFP Program — International Fellowships Program) — the program providing on a competitive basis of a grant for training in programs of postgraduate education in the field of humanitarian and social sciences within those academic disciplines and areas which correspond to the main activities of Fund of Ford.

The purpose of the Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program — a possibility to continue education to the talented people capable to use the gained knowledge to promote development of the countries and to promote the activity to establishment of economic and social justice around the world.

The Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program is directed to alignment of educational opportunities of representatives of different sectors of society. It supports people from those social groups which traditionally have less opportunities in access to the higher education and insufficiently in it are presented.

The international program of grants is founded by Ford’s Fund in 2000 and is the largest in its history. The general budget of the Program calculated for 10 years will make 280 mln. dollars.

Candidates can participate in an open competition of the International Fellowships Program:

constantly living in the territory of the Russian Federation at the time of application;
having the diploma about the higher education at the time of application;
having experience, including on a voluntary basis, in the sphere of alleged education or close to it — not less than one year at the time of application.

Candidates cannot participate in a competition:

the having candidate’s degrees or PhD;
gained the diploma about the higher or postgraduate education outside the countries of the former USSR;
trained in full-time postgraduate study or according to the PhD program at the time of application (applicants and graduate students of extramural studies are allowed to a competition);
trained outside Russia on postgraduate (including master) to programs at the time of application.
